Beauty Evenunye Adjovi Sodokin

Adjovi Evenunye Sodokin is a medical doctor with more than five years of experience in primary and secondary prevention of noncommunicable diseases. She founded MedStudents Leaders Association (MLA), an organization focused on the prevention of noncommunicable diseases. She is also the founder of MLA ROSE, a health workshop that empowers girls in Togo to prevent breast cancer by training them in breast self-examination, a critical early detection measure. Currently, Evenunye is a general practitioner at Clinique la Référence, a private hospital in Lomé, where she cares for kidney disease patients. She also educates the population through social media about disease prevention and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Evenunye was named one of 200 influential women in global health and one of 35 influential Africans under the age of 35. On completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Evenunye plans to continue her advocacy for preventive medicine. Her dream is to remove breast cancer from first place on the list of the most common cancers in women. She plans to emphasize empowering Togolese girls to prevent breast cancer and to create a digital crowdfunding platform to raise money for breast cancer patients with low social status.
